Pisa. Leaning Tower. Need I say more?
The field of miracles: the Baptistery, the Duomo (cathedral) and the Campanile (bell tower).
Everybody should have a go at exhibiting their strength here, either by attempting to push the tower upright, or by making it lean even more (^_^).
The cathedral.
Inside the cathedral.
The ceiling's cool!!
The Baptistery.
The monumental cemetery.
Time to climb up the Leaning Tower!! For 15 Euros, you get to stay there for only about 30 minutes.
The stairs at the lower levels...
You will be forced to linger around the 4th level. Around, as in around the tower, outside, on the balcony, taking pictures of the view. I think this is to allow the previous group to descend, and they don't want people knocking into each other...
Almost at the top! The bells are here. The spiral stairs behind me will lead you up to the peak.
And the final steps to the top!
Yay! I have finally conquered one of the seven wonders of the world! What is this? I was expecting the top to be a flat disc. I certainly did not expect it to be just a narrow ring! With fragile looking railings. And strong gusts of wind. Pretty scary. Definitely not for the faint of heart! Not much time to linger around though... the guards were already busy yelling at us to climb down... I did not even have time to get someone to take a picture of me up there as proof of my conquest! (ToT)
I'll end with a view taken from the top of the tower.
All in all, it was a great, albeit expensive experience climbing the leaning tower. Although it will most probably be my first and also my last time climbing it. Of course, you should climb it too if you ever have the chance to do so (^_~)
